MORIS defended the client’s interests in court in a dispute with the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine
MORIS successfully challenged a decision of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU), which had imposed a fine of UAH 17.2 million on our client, a leading household goods manufacturer. The AMCU alleged that the company used packaging design that closely resembled that of another producer's product.
In favour of our client the appellate court ruled AMCU’s decision invalid.
This case underscores the importance of defending manufacturers’ rights in competition matters and the need to contest AMCU decisions when they threaten fair business. As a result, our client not only avoided the fine but also demonstrated that its business operations comply with competition law standards.
The client’s rights protection was led by Partner Andriy Savchuk, Counsel Yuriy Petrash, and Senior Associate Andriy Ivanov.
